My morning waking up in Bali

Whether you wake up from a tropical rain or the sun shining on your face, any kind of day is a beautiful day in Bali. And I love to start the day with a good routine in order to wake up my body and mind!

The most important meal of the day also happens to be my favourite! I generally get way too excited for breakfast and so I love to go to new places and try all kind of deliciousness! At the moment I am staying in Canggu and I have to admit that one of my favourite breakfast places here is Peleton Supershop. I love getting the green acai bowl to have a sweet treat but also get those greens in!

There is one more thing I have to admit… “Hi my name is Britt and I have a coffee addiction”. No but really, offering me a hot, smooth and perfect cup of coffee is THE way to put a smile on my face! So starting with a coffee in the morning is for me the perfect start of the day!

Before or after breakfast I love to give my body a good stretch! I have always loved yoga but since I moved to Bali it has become a big part of my life and is now part of my daily routine. My body feels more flexible, lighter and overall healthier and it has worked miracles on my mind. Everyone has ups and downs in life, thats what makes us human. I recently went through a down period in my life and I now found that meditation and yoga really performs miracles. Its now become part of who I am and it helped me get through those down days! For anyone that is reading this and also has these down days once in a while (which is everyone as we all have these days) then I highly recommend you to try some meditation or yoga. Go to a class or even do it at home by yourself – even if its for 10 minutes! Open up a youtube video and get going, you won’t know if it works unless you try right?

Yoga at Desa Seni

I love early mornings. I wake up drink my warm water with fresh lemon and get going to either my yoga class or when I am too excited I make my way to breakfast! There are many beautiful places here in Bali to enjoy – amazing and healthy breakfast spots or yoga retreats to cleanse your mind and stretch your body! Check out my other articles to find out more about these spots!

Where to eat and surf in Bali

Another morning, another bird outside my window singing good morning, another sunny day, and another breakfast bowl and a coconut coffee at The Shady Shack around the corner! All in all.. another happy morning in beautiful Bali!

The Shady Shack, Canggu – Bali

However, my breakfast date this morning wasn’t just anyone, she was someone special! You see, originally I was born in Holland and moved to England after middle school. This is where I met a group of girls that quickly meant the world to me! Unfortunately due to circumstances we separated ways. But now, 6 years later and on the other side of the world, we meet again! I couldn’t think of a better breakfast date!

After getting our bellies full of delicious food and coffee we explored Canggu and ended up in one of the best spots for surfing. Now this is a place I will be telling you more about. Tomorrow morning il be heading out for an early surfing sesh, which you will be able to follow on my Instagram!

Today we explored (and apart from discovering that I am in love with Bali) we found lots of amazing spots, restaurants and cafes. Which, I will be telling you about in detail in the next few posts! Keep updated guys, because I will be showing you every corner of this magical place!

Tropical raw Açaí Bowl

I love to start my day full of energy! I stretch my arms and yawn while I put on the kettle and squeeze some lemon juice in my cup. Green tea with a piece of fresh ginger and lemon juice is what I like to wake up to!

Of course it doesn’t take long for my stomach to wake up too! And a breakfast that always puts a smile on my face (even on Monday mornings!) is a freshly made Açaí Bowl!

Portion: 2 bowls – or 1 😉

Ingredients:                                                                                         For toppings:

Happiness cafe (the way to happiness)

First things first, I apologize for the lack of daily posts as any bloggers nightmare has come true.. both my beloved camera and laptop have decided to give up on me at exactly the same time! – Leaving me with a broken heart and some slight panic! However, I am doing my best to get everything fixed as soon as possible and I will be ready to get you guys back into my daily life!

Just to get you guys back on track I made my way from the beautiful St Moritz to Milan, and took a flight to Amsterdam the next day! Home sweet home! I am now in Eindhoven which is my home town. I love Eindhoven and there is one place that particularly makes me happy! This cafe really back ups their name, at The Happiness Cafe you will find your way to happiness!

The moment you walk in you can feel their tropical and trendy vibe! As you look through the menu you just get more and more excited! Vibrant flavors, countless healthy grains, tropical combinations, after every line you read it just becomes more difficult to make a choice! As you look over the counter you see the most delicious cakes and cookies that you wont believe are healthy or vegan for that matter! – Believe me, you will just order everything and end up taking half of it home. – I write while sipping on the rest of my juice that I took home after lunch today..!

I am in love with this cafe and everything that it stands for. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is delicious, vibrant and healthy, and if you are sipping on your favorite juice and all of a sudden your bubble gets popped by the thought that you almost forgot your friends birthday you can get the best cards and presents there! – A little tip, try their different home-made peanut butters!! (Peanut and coconut! Hmmmm, my guilty pleasure!!!)
