Breakfast heaven!

Bonjour my fellow breakfast lovers! I’d like to think I started my morning right by walking down the street and finding myself in breakfast heaven! I ordered in my best French (while a lady was smiling at me) all the brioches I could smell while walking down the street!

Whats breakfast heaven if it doesn’t include a smoothie! Just a little further down the road I could hear the fruit boxes being stacked on top of each other. As I walked around the corner the colours of the fruit were blooming against the pale background. This shop named Hierbas in St-Maxime doesn’t only sell fresh pressed juices and smoothies but also home-made food such as sandwiches and granola! For the vegans/vegetarians under us, they have some amazing options! The best thing is, you can just drop by and they will make everything in no time in order for you to be on your way and enjoy something delicious and healthy!

The view from our apartment is mind-blowing. I feel so lucky to be waking up to this view every morning while dipping my warm croissant in my coffee. We booked this apartment using Airbnb which honestly was the most pleasant, quick and amazing service ever! Obviously we decided we wanted to try and get this apartment very quickly, and by our surprise we got a reply very quickly too! This is the second year we have been here now, and we are not planning to leave anytime soon!

Country girl kind of Tuesday

This morning I started my day with my delicious home-made granola and a cup of coffee while sitting outside surrounded by green, feeling the warmth of the morning sun on my face, which honestly put the biggest smile on my face!

Next to me are eyes staring up looking back and forth at me and my bowl of granola, desperately hoping a piece will fall on the ground – if it even gets to hit the ground! You see the picture below? Thats the exact face she gives you when she wants something! – But honestly, how can I say no to that? Plus, I don’t blame her for loving my granola! Check the recipe in the food section if you want to get as obsessed with it as we are!

Simple & Healthy Granola

Starting the morning with my delicious home-made granola doesn’t only satisfy my healthy cravings, it also feels like I am finally satisfying those sweet cravings I have had for days! This home made granola topped with fresh berries and almond milk makes you smile and jump out of bed even if you aren’t a morning person! So, let’s discuss the most important part and try getting that smile on your face every morning!

The beauty of this recipe is that it is easily adjustable as you can just simply add your favourite nuts or seeds!

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of Jumbo oats
  • 50 grams of slivered almonds
  • 50 grams of pecans
  • 50 grams of sunflower seeds
  • 60 grams of rasped coconut
  • Teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 gram salt
  • 60 grams of rapeseed oil / coconut oil
  • 160 grams of agave syrup

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius (fan).

Simply blend the rapeseed oil/coconut oil and the honey together in a bowl. Mix well until it is blended together and smooth.

Add all other ingredients together in one bowl and mix. When all mixed together add the smooth rapeseed oil/coconut oil and honey mix to the bowl and stir until everything sticks together.

Then simply bake in the oven for 20/25 minutes until your kitchen smells amazing and the granola has turned golden brown! Make sure to give your granola a good mix every 5 minutes while it’s in the oven to make sure they don’t burn!
