Deauville is a town in Normandy, and I am in love with it. I have a special connection with France and especially with this town I like to call ‘small Paris’. In the morning I love to wake up and get my fresh bread from the bakery around the corner that already has my warm bread ready for me. Then get my fresh fruit from the market and then sit down on the terrace at one of my favourite cafes named Le Morny’s.
You can not imagine a more French cafe and atmosphere then you will experience right here. Its the feeling I get when sitting in the early morning sun while watching people walk by and getting a smile by the waiter who is holding your cappuccino ready, as he knew you were coming. You are sitting in the most beautiful square with a fountain spraying water high in the air that sometimes gets blown a little by the wind leading a few drops to fly over the street cooling down people that walk past. The sound of laughter and the smell of coffee and fresh pastries fills the air. For me its a magical place.
At Le Morny’s you can enjoy delicious French meals in the form of salads, sandwiches, pastries but the reason I love coming here is for my coffee! As my soya cappuccino is still hot I love to dip in pieces of my fresh baguette and let it soak up all the coffee. This is a very French breakfast that is an absolute must try.
When I walk to town in the morning I take my puppy with me, which you can see takes after his owner and is a total coffee lover too! This cafe has the most friendly staff, as you can see allows doggies and is open everyday from 7am until 10pm.
Its my absolute favourite place and you must give it a visit when in Deauville! Im sure you will fall in love with it as much as I did! X
The address is: 6 Place de Morny, 14800 Deauville, France

I love my alarm in the morning. – Now thats something you don’t hear often! But when your alarm is as cute as mine I am sure you would feel the same way! My morning alarm is a little panda licking my face until I wake up! Whats a better way to start your day then to open your eyes and have this little thing staring at you! – He is ready to start another happy and careless day!
When you walk around in Deauville you can feel the summery atmosphere. While wondering through the tiny streets filled with bakeries you can smell the fresh bread. When you walk past the harbour you can hear the seagulls while fisherman unload their daily catch. Everything gives a sense of calmness, of happiness. This is a place where you sit down on a terrace, and just endlessly watch people walk by. You will notice that each one of them has their unique style, but show similar vibes. There is a restaurant opposite the harbour in Trouville named Le Centralwhere you can enjoy a freshly caught fish while enjoying your view and watch people walk by. It is the perfect location and they serve the dishes that Deauville is so famous for! Their amazing fresh fish!
The restaurant is also extremely close to the beach, which means you can have an evening walk while watching the sky turn orange and witness the sun disappear in the sea. Deauville has the most stunning sunsets. It is the landscape and the surroundings that makes it so unique and breathtaking.
If you don’t want to go home yet make a stop at the most delicious ice-cream place named Amorino! They have an amazing selection of flavours and are beautifully presented! There is also a very large dairy free selection! Which are absolutely delicious and flavoursome! – Try the sorbet hazelnut, you will long for more and more!
Summer nights are my favourite. A late night swim is the perfect way to end the day feeling fresh. Cooling your skin down from the hot sun. As you step out of the cold water you can feel the warm air hugging your skin, making you feel drowsy and cosy. The sun is down, the moon comes up. Its another beautiful night in Deauville. You can hear the birds sing into the night as you lay in your bed. Facing the window you see the stars. I close my eyes, and think “I cant wait for my alarm in the morning.”
While walking down I start smelling the sea. As I get closer to the harbour I can hear the sound of seagulls, a large group creates the overpowering sound that makes you curious to see why they have all gathered together and making such loud noises. As I look behind the fishing boats I see countless seagulls, fighting over fish that has been left as the fisherman are working hard trying to move their daily catch ashore. Only a few meters away you see the fresh fish being dropped off and sold immediately to the locals that walk by. – I don’t think you could get any fresher fish than this. I am in a beautiful place named Deauville/Trouville. They are famous for their amazing fish, you can definitely understand why.
The towns are incredibly beautiful. Streets are filled with the cutest houses, build in the traditional normandy style. The harbour in Deauville is always filled with fishing boats, and the harbour in Trouville with sailing boats. This for me says it all. The people that come here enjoy life. They enjoy good food, as we know French do, a glass of wine with a selection of local cheeses are always part of a daily routine. They also love the sea and have an active lifestyle. And all this, you can feel in the atmosphere. There is a calm and happy feeling in the air, which you cant help but breath in and follow the flow.
They like to call it ‘Little Paris’. It is no wonder that you find many people from Paris taking advantage of their weekend to escape to this beautiful place on the sea. It almost feels like people come here to relax, and that they do. Wake up in the morning from the sun that shines through the window, touching your face with its warmth. You stretch your legs, put on the first dress you can find, and walk to the nearest bakery to get your fresh baguette. You have a walk over the market and buy your fresh fruit (and the Moroccan styled handbag you have had an eye on for a week). You then sit down, on one of the terraces surrounded by green trees and colourful parasols. You order your coffee and sneakily dip the warm bread you just bought from the shop on the corner in your coffee. – This is the exact routine I did this morning, so believe me, its a routine that will make anyone wake up with a smile! (Even on Mondays!)
As you walk around you cannot help but notice how beautiful the houses are. I will be showing much more of this stunning town in the coming days. But if you feel that you would like to see this place in real life (which you should!) then book your next hotel in Deauville! Trust me, it is a place that will make everyone happy! – Perfect holiday place for romantic couples, families, or just a single getaway for those moments where you want to escape, just by yourself!
Yep, I told you! I am in breakfast heaven! And I am not alone! Step by step I walk down the hill with a small fluffy panda bear making me trip every two seconds by walking through my legs, jumping up and down out of excitement. As he sees the car he runs towards it like a little lamb. – I have now figured out why he enjoys spending time in the car, the leather seats are surprisingly delicious to chew on! As we drive down on the hunt for our breakfast we notice how busy it really is. Of course I hadn’t had my morning coffee yet and so it took me a few minutes to realise it was July 14th! Bastille day!! Which means, markets, shows and fireworks! – We like to think that actually the shows and the fireworks are especially done for my mothers birthday.. so lets not lie and just say it is all for the birthday girl!
Bastille is a great day to spend in Deauville! Spend it at the beach underneath one of their famous parasols or go strolling around visiting some shops while snacking on your warm croissant! And for the great finally go to the beach and put your feet in the sand, you are about to experience one of the most amazing fireworks you will ever see! The loud and heavy music creates an impact by itself but when it is harmonised with the spectacular fireworks, you hold your breath. Every year I catch myself being hypnotised by this beautiful experience, and every time it just seems to be more stunning than the other. All I really need to say is, go and see it for yourself. – Thank me later.
