The loveliest ‘Secret Spot’ in Canggu, Bali

The Secret Spot is definitely a little secret spot that you have to check out when you are in Canggu. As soon as you walk in you’ll notice it’s cosiness and the fresh atmosphere due to the green palms which are placed around the cafe. I personally love sitting outside on the roof terrace which allows you to have a look out over a lovely view while you’re drinking your coffee.

At this cafe you can always find a quiet spot to read a book in the corner or you can sit outside and enjoy the sun while playing the guitar. However, if you have a little bit of a sweet tooth then you’ll definitely fall in love with this place! The Secret Spot is specialised in frozen yoghurt! And oh my are they delicious! You can even personalise your frozen yoghurt by choosing any of the delicious toppings, so you can make it as healthy or naughty as you want.

What to have

I personally love coming for breakfast or to have a quick coffee or snack. They serve all kinds of delicious raw snacks and of course their frozen yoghurt is a lovely treat (for non-vegans).  The coffee they serve here is absolutely delicious and that is why the non-vegans under us need to try the Affogato as it is out of this world. However, as I said the coffee here really is delicious and it’s definitely a good spot to come for a quick caffeine pickup!

For breakfast I personally love the Chia pod with mango compote topped with granola and strawberries. The mango compote is so refreshing as well as tangy and the granola gives a nice crunch to all the soft flavours and textures. Especially in Bali it’s amazing to start with a refreshing breakfast and this is perfect!

Another day in breakfast Paradise at Kynd Community

Another day in paradise, another tropical breakfast in Bali! My favourite part of the day is waking up to a good cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast right here in the tropics. One spot that I love going to and you can’t miss out on is a cafe named Kynd Community.

Kynd Community is a plant-based cafe hidden away in the busy streets of Seminyak. This cafe really shows that plant-based food doesn’t have to be boring at all. Their menu is full of vibrance and their dishes explode with flavours and veggie goodness.

The cafe has a tropical and laid-back vibe. People come strolling in for take-away coffees and a cheeky vegan chocolate chip banana muffin as they walk away with a smile. All kinds of delicious vegan desserts are laid out at the counter and you cant help but stare at them as you walk past. The smell of freshly grounded coffee hangs in the air and laughter fills the room. Its a lovely space to hang out and enjoy some Bali vibes.

What to get

As you might know I am the biggest coffee freak and thats why I am happy to say that the coffee they serve here is delicious! They make their milks fresh every morning and you can choose between soya, coconut and roasted almond & date milk, my favourite here is the soya.

Their menu is so vibrant and there are so many delicious options. As everything is plant-based I would say that everything on the menu is as delicious as the other. However, I love getting the ‘Greener Grass’ juice (50k Idr/ 2.50 pounds) for some refreshing green goodness. This juice is extremely fresh and I definitely recommend you to get it on a hot day. Even though it’s a green juice it does also have a sweet taste to it and as there is some ginger in there as well its creates a perfect flavour balance.

Then of course a must have and also one of my favourites is the ‘Green and Grind’ smoothie bowl (69k Idr/ 3.60 pounds). This green goodness consists of banana, mango, spinach, flax, maca, spirulina, coconut water and is topped with home-made granola and tropical fruit. Its absolutely delicious, super refreshing and extremely healthy. Even though this might be a green bowl it does not taste overly green and still has some sweetness to it. What I find different from this bowl compared to others is that when you have finished the toppings you don’t just have the rest of the smoothie to spoon out. Instead at Kynd Community puts the granola on the bottom so with every spoonful you have some crunchy granola.

Tip:

When ordering your smoothie bowl ask if they can write a personalised message for you as a topping on your bowl. Its a little bit of fun that will look great on your Insta 😉

Have you fallen in love with the home-made granola, their cookies or even their cutlery then no worries! You can purchase them inside and take home some Bali vibes! I definitely recommend to take home some chocolate chip cookie vibes!

Where to go

They are open everyday from 6am – 5pm and their address is Jl. Petitenget No.12X, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Bali.

This is the ultimate spot for a delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch with friends – you will even convince that one non-vegan friend that vegan food can be vibrant and delicious! Enjoy!

Tropical breakfast at The Loft

Who wouldn’t like to be sitting in-between palm leaves while enjoying a tropical smoothie bowl!

The Loft is a cosy cafe in which you can sink into a couch and put your feet up. I recently went for the first time and I loved it.

For breakfast I ordered the ‘Quinoa porridge’ and a ‘Not so green’ smoothie bowl. The ‘Quinoa porridge’ (75k Idr) had a lot of texture and was full of fresh and sweet flavours. Definitely not your average porridge! The ‘Not so green’ smoothie bowl’ (75k Idr) lives up to its name.  It indeed did not taste green at all – even though it does have avocado and spinach in it. Nevertheless, its the powerful mango flavour that overpowers! Which makes the bowl fruity and fresh. Its smooth, not icy, not lumpy and the toppings are the perfect selection of fruit, coconut and delicious crunchy granola! They have lots of different smoothie bowls and the menu is full with interesting meals and drinks such as ‘Avocado latte’ and ‘Beetroot latte’.

The scenery is very open which makes the atmosphere very cosy and lively, especially in the evening. Not only is it very pretty, its also a very popular spot to be taking those Instagram shots! So Insta lovers make sure to get your phone out!

They serve early breakfast, lunch and even dinner. For dinner you must try one of their special burgers, doesn’t the ‘Matcha burger’ sound like a must try?! Like everything on their menu, you haven’t tasted anything like it before!

They are open every day from 6.30am until 11pm. So even the early birds and the surfers won’t have to worry!

Enjoy! X
