Live music and vegan pizza at Milk & Madu

For an evening full of delicious food, great vibes and live music you have to go to Milk & Madu! Not only do they have an interesting menu full of deliciousness, their restaurant is  just overall a great place to hang out – in the day and in the evening. Everyday from 6pm on there will be live music and its always buzzing with people creating an amazing atmosphere.

With a play hut in the garden children can be entertained while you are lounging in a comfortable couch. Sit down and relax with a margarita in one hand and a pizza margarita waiting for you in the oven! Which at the moment they have on offer every single day between 4-6pm, only 50k Idr (2.70 pounds) for a pizza margarita or a margarita cocktail! I mean, talking about how to brighten up your Tuesday!

I absolute love the pizza they make here. They use a lava stone pizza oven and their pizza’s are definitely something special. However, unless you order a pizza Marinara the pizza they have on the menu is definitely not the traditional pizza you would get in Italy. The vegan pizza’s are full of flavour and texture due to its large variety of toppings. Which create a plate full of deliciousness.

‘Pumpkin pie’ pizza – Milk & Madu

My favourite pizza’s are ‘Greenpeace’ (139k Idr, 7.60 pounds) and ‘Pumpkin pie’ (119k Idr, 6 pounds). On the menu these pizza’s are not vegan but simply ask and it will be made for you just how you like it!

The ‘Greenpeace’ pizza is topped with fresh tomato sauce, spinach, kale, olives, roasted red onion and garlic. The roasted red onion has a delicious caramelised flavour and the black olives have a strong taste and perfect texture. The garlic flavour combines itself with the spinach making all the flavours stand out but are complimenting each other at the same time.

The ‘Pumpkin pie’ pizza is topped with fresh tomato sauce, roasted pumpkin, roasted red onion and fresh rocket. The roasted pumpkin is deliciously soft and adding real texture to the crunchy pizza. The pizza base is thin and soft from the inside but extremely crunchy from the outside. Personally I prefer Napolitano pizza’s, which are thin and crispy – just like this one!

Next to pizza’s they also serve all kind of delicious other meals such as salads, pasta’s, sandwiches, sharing plates and smoothie bowls. Enjoy a delicious smoothie bowl for breakfast, a fresh salad for lunch and a crunchy pizza for dinner!

Milk & Madu has a little fun everyday in which you can join in! At the moment they have the following promotions, which you should definitely give a try!

Brunch and tropical vibes at Sprout, Bali

I am the biggest salad lover. And being vegan it is always fun to mix up your salad with some colour, different flavours, proteins, textures and even some wow factor ingredients that really stand out! This is why I absolutely love going to Sprout as here they have a large menu, with lots of vibrant salads! But the best thing is, for someone like me I am extremely indecisive. Yep, the worst. But here I wont stare at the menu for an hour as at Sprout you can choose up to 3 different salads and they will combine all of them on one plate! Problem solved!

Sprout is a cosy cafe with a real tropical vibe. You walk through the arch onto the terrace where you can sit underneath the green treas. With an occasional leaf falling on your table you feel comfortable in the shade – escaping from Bali’s heat.

The menu is extremely vibrant and everything sounds absolutely delicious. Order a cold fresh coconut or one of my favourite drinks named ‘Shearwater’ (38k Idr/ 2 pounds)  This smoothie is made with watermelon, coconut, mint and chia seeds. Giving it a really fresh taste – perfect for a hot day!

However, the reason why I love coming here is for the salads. You can choose from a vibrant selection such as ‘couscous salad’ , ‘kale and chickpea falafel salad’, ‘lentil salad’, ‘raw veggie salad’ and many more! Create your own plate and indulge yourself into its deliciousness! A mixed salad plate only costs 75 Idr (4 pounds) and you’ll find that its a great portion, perfect for lunch!

There are lots more different delicious dishes on the menu such as a ‘kimchi quinoa bowl’ or ‘buckwheat pancakes’. The more you read the more indecisive you get! Everything sounds and looks delicious.

Sprout has a relaxing vibe, great food and you can even buy delicious cakes, biscuits and bread to take away! Its the perfect place to keep in mind whenever you fancy a quick bite, a delicious filling salad or when you need some essentials or ingredients to take home with you!

Im sure you’ll fall in love with this place and its food just as much as I did! Enjoy!

Sprout is open from 7am until 6pm.

Its located on Jl. Raya Semat No.18, Canggu, Bali.

The most delicious & traditional cooking class at The Amala, Bali

Some days sunny Bali turns into a rainy paradise and leaves you being washed away from the beach. However, on days like that I know just the activity that will give you a chance to get to know a little piece of Bali’s culture!

At The Amala Hotel in Seminyak they offer private cooking lessons, teaching you how to cook an authentic Balinese meal!

As a surprise for my boyfriends birthday I decided to take him on this cooking adventure. We got got picked up, escorted through the rain and lead into a little piece of paradise.

In the middle of the busy streets of Seminyak you will find a tiny road that will lead you to a whole different world. As soon as you arrive you notice the tropical green colours, palms, water clattering down the stones, it truly is a beautiful place.

The cooking lesson is held next to the swimming pool and everything has been taken care of. The ingredients are ready for you to taste, the menu you will be preparing is there for you to inspect and your apron is ready to be put on!

The chef teaches you what kind of ingredients the Balinese kitchen uses and how to use it. Next to preparing some of the most delicious Balinese food I have ever tasted, I also learned a lot about the Balinese culture. Its amazing to get to talk about the overall culture and the importance of its food.

Cooking all these amazing recipes and preparing delicious dishes is an amazing experience. But it does get you hungry! The great thing is, after cooking all the meals you will be seated on a beautiful table with a view over the swimming pool and your very own prepared meals will be served to you! While raindrops were falling around us we sat down, enjoyed the view and had a feast!

From delicious Gado-gado and tofu in banana leaf to Pisang goreng (fried banana, my favourite!). Every single dish was as delicious as the other. The whole experience was amazing and I highly recommend you to join a class! Its perfect for a special occasion as you can join a class with a large group, or go for a romantic private lesson with your lover!

When we finished our dinner we even got an official certificate, our apron, the recipes and a little box of ingredients that we can use to recreate this delicious meal! We loved it!

The Amala Hotel  is located on Jl. Kunti I, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361

A class is 725.000 Idr (around 40 pounds) per person and you can book your very own lesson by clicking here! I’m sure you will love it just as much as we did!

Enjoy! X
